Sedona Inspired Inspiration Shoot :: River Market Event Place

If you know me, then you know I have a huge soft spot for the desert. I love to travel out West and be surrounded by the red clay hues, cacti and Joshua Trees.  This is where I go to get grounded, to hit the reset button and get my creative batteries recharged. Since I may not be able to visit the desert anytime soon; I was so happy that between myself and some really amazing creative vendors, we were able to bring the desert vibes to KCMO.

Winter Paloma Recipe by RMEP ::
Lime Wedge
Pink Himalayan Salt
2 ounces Tequila
1/2 ounce Fresh Lime Juice
2 ounces Sage-Infused Grapefruit Juice (see separate recipe)
2 ounces Grapefruit La Croix

Rub the rim of a glass with the lime wedge and dip the rim into Pink Himalayan salt. Add ice. Combine the tequila, lime juice and infused grapefruit juice in the glass, then top off with the Grapefruit La Croix. Garnish with a lime or grapefruit wedge, and a sage leaf if you’re feeling extra fancy.
*For the infused grapefruit juice you can use fresh squeezed grapefruit juice (fresh is always best) or you can use a good quality bottled juice (we like Simply Grapefruit or Mr. Pure). For every liter of juice we added 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 small bunch of sage leaves (roughly a handful). Place the juice, sugar and leaves in a pot on the stove and bring to a boil. As soon as it hits the boiling point turn it off and let the sage steep for at least 2-3 hours.

enjoy.

And, if you’d like to help the desert, especially Joshua Tree which really got abused during the Government Shut-down. . please check out the Friends of Joshua Tree website on how you can help/donate. Xomo
