Chandra + Andy had a very lovely winter wedding at the always lovely, Simpson House last month. There were so many things that I loved about their wedding: Chandra’s delicate yet dramatic gown, the cozy fur wraps that Chandra and her bridesmaids wore, Andy and his groomsmens KC Pride socks, the unplugged ceremony . . . .the list just goes on an on. But by far my favorite part of their day was a portion of their wedding ceremony. Chandra’s brother conducted a Blanket Ceremony, which was a nod to their Ioway Tribe heritage. The traditional blessing bound Chandra and Andy together was given in the ancestral Baxoje tongue. It was so touching, and meaningful and I was so honored to be a witness to it.
Congrats & best of luck to Chandra and Andy on this new chapter of their lives together. And Happy Holidays to everyone! xomo
