There’s really one other thing I love as much as photography … road trips. So when Ali & Nicole asked if we’d be up for coming to their neck-o-the-woods (Iola, Kansas), I immediately said yes.
First of all .. look how adorable their fur baby, Belle is. She’s deaf and partially blind so getting her to look my way was a slight struggle. Queue the Scooby Snacks! That girl could smell them a mile away.
Ali & Nicole took us to one of their favorite spots, the Southwind Rail Trail. This trail consisted of gorgeous tree lined pathways and one cool old bridge.
Through the trees we could see a cool crumbly, vine invested structure next to a corn field. . . we may have done light trespassing. . . but it was so worth it.
Look at that ring! And look at Ali’s shirt! #iheartcactus
Lastly, we headed back into town. Earlier that day I had noticed the old Iola Theater … we had to shoot there. As soon as we got our lights dialed in, and started to shoot a (very) nearby car alarm went off .. for-like-ever. So, I had them do a dance off to the beat of the alarm.
Thank you Ali & Nicole for showing us around your cute little town. We are so excited for your December wedding at 1890 — that place looks amazing!
