I knew from the very beginning, that this wedding was going to be a FUN one. And I was 100% correct. I’ve known Katie for over 10 years [HOLY SHEET… how is that possible!?] She’s been a bridesmaid in a previous wedding I shot, and at a guest at another. I was so honored when she asked me if I would be the photographer for her wedding. In fact, at Katie & Mike’s wedding, there were 5 former wedding clients in attendance. <3 <3 <3 gave me all the feels. 🙂
Our day started at the lovely President Hotel, a quick stop at Union Station then we got down to business at “Da Berg”
Here’s the low down from the beautiful bride herself:
“So Mike and I wanted a very nontraditional wedding with a classic feel. I have always dug the retro style of the 50’s and 60’s, so I really wanted to express that in my bridesmaids’ dresses as well as mine. We also wanted bright colors for a summer feel. Green and orange are my favorite colors, so I thought those would be perfect colors for a summer wedding. When it came to the alter, we have to give all vision credit to the ladies at Hitched. We really didn’t know what we wanted for the alter. We just knew we didn’t want the norm. When we expressed a retro kind of feel, Jessica came up with the hanging stars. Once she showed us that, there was not turning back.
As for the reception we just wanted a huge party. Mike and I love to party and dance. So obviously we needed a selfie station for debauchery, light up shoelaces for the dance floor and late night hot dogs to keep the party going all night. ”
Thank you Katie & Mike for such a FUN time and special thanks to the ever patient and über lovely, Minh-Tu from Hitched!! xoxomo
