Mark & Larry’s Parisian Honeymoon :: Part Two

Part Two of the Paris Blog.

DAY 5: Versailles, The Catacombs and a celebration
The guys had to run some errands, so Rachel and I had breakfast near the Trocadero and finished our espresso’s near the Eiffel Tower. What a way to start the day, eh?

Hey Rachel, is that a baguette in your bag or are you just happy to see me? 😉😂

We packed a picnic and hopped aboard the train to Versailles for the day! It started out a pretty crummy day, cold and rainy — thankfully we were indoors for most of it.

Lé Catacombs Muahahahahahahaha ☠️❤️

The Catacombs was established in 1774, after a nearby cemetery basement wall collapsed, and to also help with the city’s lack of availability in their present day cemetery’s. This is now the home for more than 6 million of Paris’ earliest inhabitants. The catacombs are comprised of an under ground tunnel system which spans over 1.25 miles, thats after descending 130 steps below the street (which also means, 130 steps back up to get out — my thighs were on fire!)

“Till Death to us Part”

We made a pit stop at Montparnasse Tower not to be confused with the cemetery. This is a really tall building, with rooftop access for a great view of the entire city.

Since this day was Mark & Larry’s official anniversary, Mark asked a nearby bakery to try to re-create their wedding cake, and the staff at Lé Dokhan was so accommodating — they helped get all this ready.

Sainte-Chapelle is a gothic chapel that was built in the 13th Century and the photos just don’t do this place justice. It’s amazing!
