Oh man. .. where do I start with this fabulous wedding? You might remember Jerry and Emily from their adorable engagement session where we snuck into their reception venue and did some fun photos—spoiler alert, we recreated some of those moments on the wedding day.

Needless to say I’ve been really looking forward to this one for a long time. I feel like I say that a lot, but it’s true. . I love my clients and I genuinely look forward to each one. 🙂 This post maybe a little more photo heavy than usual, but when the Mother of the Groom is a fellow professional photographer, you aim to please.

Jerry and Emily thank you SO much for entrusting us with your special day. It was amazing, and you two are freakin’ adorable. And I thought I knew you two pretty well leading up to the wedding, but what I found out the day of, is that you two are not only beautiful people on the outside but inside as well. I hope you both have a life time of love, laughter and of course, Kodak Moments. Congrats Kiddos! Xoxo

So I need to offer up some advice to those who are thinking of getting real bow ties for their wedding. Either have someone in your party that knows how to tie them, or practice tying them before the big day. I wasn’t in the room while this happened, but I deffinately heard about it the rest of the day. No-one, in Jerry’s entire entourage knew how to tie a bowtie. Until they found one lady that could — she literally saved the day. Emily’s dad even gave her a shout out during his speech. So, guys. . seriously practice tying these things before the big day. 🙂




















I loved this moment. Emily decided to kick her bridesmaids out of the room while she put on the dress and gave them their own special first look. LOVED IT!








Emily’s dad was an absolute riot, all day. And their first look was nothing short of adorable.




Last but certainly not least, the most anticipated first look of the day in the beautiful Mezzanine at President Hotel.










The couple decided to do a little present exchange — Loved their expressions!

I think Emily nailed Jerry’s present too! A weekend get-away with an Ohio State {right?} home game to boot!




















I had to leave this photo in — Ed was our amazing bus driver. Normally I have to end up giving step-by-step directions on how to get to our next location. Not this guy, he knew where everything was and seemed to stay a step a head of us the whole day. During some of the photos, we got caught up in a small downpour. Some drivers would have just sat inside, but not Ed. He stood outside the bus until we all got back. He has passed my driver test with flying colors. Be sure to request him by name for your event! 🙂

St.Peter’s Church may be my new favorite Cathedral to shoot in. Look at this Doorway! And wait until you see the rest. OMG.

One of my favorite moments of a wedding day is right before the ceremony starts and everyone is lined up bursting with excitement and anticipation.


I often offer up some advice to take a big deep breathe in. . . this was by far the best reaction I’ve ever had to that advice.
















This is Jerry’s Best Man’s hand. Remember this hand — it came in “handy” during the ceremony. Pun intended.

It’s time to CELEBRATE!






Loved this moment! Jerry has been active in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization, and this is his Little Bro. 🙂


After the Ceremony we headed to The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art for some bridal party fun!
































Next up, we headed to The Levee for a quick stop, where Jerry and Emily had their first date.






And what wedding day would be complete without a skyline shot?!








This was my first time shooting in the ballroom at The President, and I truly hope it isn’t my last. Look how gorgeous this place is!










One more reveal moment: Jerry and Emily seeing their reception for the first time!


We decided to do a few photos of just the two of them in the ballroom before any of the guests came in. . . SO ROMANTIC!
