Colorado Adventures 2017

Recently, I traveled to Denver for a little business, and a little play. Here’s some snaps of both.
This is the Maven Hotel, and it’s seriously gorgeous! Towards the back right of the image below you can see the modern tiki lounge, Poka Lola Social Club and to the left is Kachina Southwestern Grill.  All in all, total sensory overload, in the best way possible.  {I spy an Airstream!}

I kind of fell in love with Denver’s Union Station. It was so light and airy, classic yet modern. . . I imagined a million photo shoots while I was there.

I mean … come on!

This is my homegirl, Liz. She is super rad and played tour guide while we were in Denver. She is also a very talented artist, and the boss lady for this SHOP. Check her out! Oh, and I’d be remised to go without mentioning her adorable fur babies, Sunny & Yoshi. <3

We checked out several breweries while in Denver… Wynkoop was definately at the top of the list for me. And that Patty’s Chile. .  holy molé…..it was delish!

Liz’s former neighborhood, Baker/South Broadway, reminds me so much of Westport / W.39th / original Crossroads here in KC. Super eclectic, a little grungy, a little artsy, great restaurants, hole-in-the-wall-bars… Sadly, like all cool and unique places . . .gentrification is happening. Famous Pizza, we’ll miss you.

Mutiny Information Cafe. Pro tip: Order the iced coffee, the ice cubes are made of coffee!

love chu, too.

My travel companion for this road trip, Arron.

After a couple days in Denver, we visited my Aunt and Uncle at one of my favorite places on Earth, Estes Park, Co. I spent most of my childhood summers exploring Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park. I love going back as an adult and revisiting places from my childhood. Bear Lake trail was always a favorite {because it’s so easy} and this year we added Nymph, Dream and Emerald Lake to the hike. Here’s my advice to you, if you’re planning a trip to RMNP. LEAVE EARLY. Like, before dawn-early. Otherwise there will be little to no parking, and the trails will be overrun with people. Plus side, you’ll have most of your activity rings [apple watch nerds, unite] before 9am. 🙂

The best Aunt & Uncle a girl could ever ask for. <3

My Aunt in her element. 🙂

Last, but certainly not least; while I was in Denver I was able to meet up with my dear friends Jill & Brandon, and their adorable son. It’s been a real treat to watch my amazing friends transition into being amazing parents. Jack is growing up to be a very smart, super silly and quite the little heartbreaker. Jill & Brandon, you two are gonna have your hands full in a few years. 😉 Thank you for asking for me to document your family. It was so great to see you. xo

Toddler kisses can get kind of . . . well, interesting.

something tells me, these two snuggle hard! lol

Hope you all had a wonderful summer! We’re gearing up for a very busy and *international* fall. . . stay tuned — you won’t want to miss it. xomo
